The Reality of

Sri Chaitanya Math

Importance of Sri Chaitanya Math:

Sri Chaitanya Math Mayapur is the place of bliss. Srila Prabhupada Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur built a bhajan kutira here in February 1909. He considered it to be Radhakunda and chanted 100 crores (1 billion) holy names here. It is also known as “Brajapattan”. This is the home of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s maternal uncle, Sri Chandrasekhara Acarya. It is located in Sridham Mayapur, Antaradvipa. Sriman Mahaprabhu enacted the Vraja pastimes here in Mayapur Dham. Sri Chaitanya Math is also known as Mool-Math as previously Srila Prabhupada established it, all his disciples stayed in this temple. Later on, in order to expand Sriman Mahaprabhu’s preaching mission, many other temples were established here.

Later on when Srila Prabhupada entered into the divine abode his samadhi was done here. If anybody visits any Gaudiya math he/she will listen about the Jaya Dhwani of Sri Chaitanya Math.

Srila Prabhupada’s words in relation to Sri Chaitanya Math

Sri Gaurahari’s place of appearance in Sridham Mayapur is Mathura. Sri Srivas Angan is the sankirtana-rasa-sthali and is non-different from Sri Vrindavan’s Rasa-sthali. Sri Chaitanya Math is Sri Govardhan and Sri Radhakunda. The kind of all maths, Sri Chaitanya Math is the supreme place for the practice of devotion; it is non-different from Isodyana. This Ishodyana, or garden of God, is beautified with Tulasi plants, lotuses, tala trees, tamal trees, pilu, Keli-kadamba, campaka, sephalika trees, wild creepers, and various fragrant flowers, thus causing the hearts of the devotees to be filled with the bliss of Vraja.

The construction of Sri Chaitanya Math’s temple:

In the later days in 1926, Srila Prabhupada desired and intelligently planned a temple with 29 domes in five sections. In the main section of the temple, the Lord of Srila Prabhupada’s life air, namely Sri Gaurasundara and Sri Sri Vinodaprana Jiu was established.

The four surrounded sections are as follows:
1. Sri Brahma with Madhvacarya, his philosophy is – Suddha-Dvaita Vaad.
2. Rudra with Sri Visnusvami, his philosophy is  – Sudha-Advaita Vaad.
3. Chaturson(4 Kumaras) with Sri Nimbarka, his philosophy is – Dvaitadvaita Vaad.
4. Sri Laksmidevi with Sri Ramanuja Swami, his philosophy is  – Visistadvaita Vaad.

The four pure Vaisnava sampradaya acharyas are served here.

Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu adopted two principles from each of the

 four Vaisnava Sampradayas as follows:

After the temple was constructed
Srila Prabhupada had the following written on one of the stones

“ This is the victory garland of the Acintya Bheda-Abheda philosophy which is the synthesis of the Suddha-Dvaita, Visistadvaita, Dvaitadvaita & Suddha-Advaita philosophies and which destroys the Kevala-Advaita philosophy. ”

Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu preached the message of Acintya Bheda-Abheda through the Srimad Bhagavatam which is the commentary on the Brahma-Sutras, the ripened fruit of all Vedic scriptures.
