Sri Gaurasundar & Sri Krishnasundar

“The mercy of Gaurasundara is unlimited & the sweetness of Krishnachandra is unparalleled.”

Jai Jai Gaura! (All glories, All glories to Gaura!)

 Subhasisang rashayah santu vishesah:

I have received your letter dated 5th Sravana. I believe, by this time, you should have received the last letter I wrote to your home address. Being occupied with different services, I get late in writing timely replies to the letters, which is a shortcoming. Mahaprabhu and Radha Krishna are the same and are non-different. The only distinction is that Sri Gaurahari is vipralambha rasa vigraha, the personification of the mellow of ecstatic love in separation, searching for Krishna and Sri Radha-Krishna is sambhoga rasa vigraha, the personification of the mellow of amorous conjugal love. By accepting Sri Gaurahari as one’s master and serving Him in the mood of His maidservant, one can attain Vraja. In the 20th Chapter of Antya-Lila of Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita, the process of bhajan (devotional practice), as demonstrated by Mahaprabhu, has been mentioned. The mercy of Gaurasundara is unlimited and the sweetness of Krishnachandra is unparalleled. Therefore, Gaura is addressed as Audarya Vigraha, the personification of munificence, and Krishna is addressed as Madhurya Vigraha, the personification of sweetness.

Please know for sure that there is no possibility of making any comparison between the two forms. Taking refuge at the Lotus Feet of Gaura and performing service unto Lord Sri Krishna is the same thing. Both of the forms are extremely charming. Lord Gaurahari is the combined manifestation of Sri Radha and Sri Krishna and hence He is neither less nor more than Krishna. Something cannot be considered either more or less with respect to its own self. The living entities are greatly benefitted by chanting the Krishna Nama. Sri Nama (the Holy Name of the Lord) and Sri Nami (the Possessor of the Holy Name) i.e., the Lord and His Name are the same and non-different. Please attentively read Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita. Thakura Mahasaya, Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura has written, “Gora pahu na bhajiya mainu / Adhane jatana kari dhana teyaginu
(I spoiled my entire life and embraced suffering by not worshiping my master – Lord Gauranga. Thus, rejecting the real treasure of love of Krishna, I, intentionally, embraced the worthless things with utmost care.”  ( Prarthana, Akshepa song 1 )

Keeping all these prayers in your heart, please always chant the Holy Name of Krishna. Then, no material trouble will be able to cause any harm to you.

Your forever well-wisher,

Sri Siddhanta Saraswati
